"Cornerpost is a little gem on the west side of historic downtown Pawnee, just a short walk from the visitor center. If you are passing through or spending time in town, stop in. This corner building is easy to miss if you are in a hurry, and that would be a mistake.
The folks who run it are locals who clearly love Pawnee. They keep the store stocked with an ever-changing mix of treasures: antique beds and rocking chairs, historic tea sets, jewelry, keepsakes from another generation, used appliances, shelving, furniture, even brand-new mattresses. One visit you might find a bicycle. The next, a 100-year-old scooter. I have been in three times and it is never the same shop twice.
Prices are super reasonable, and the staff make the place. They know the town, they know the history, and they will sit and visit with you. There is usually enough furniture around that you can just take a seat and listen to a story. That kind of hospitality is rare, and it is the best part of the stop.
If you are in or passing through Pawnee, do not drive by. Cornerpost is worth the few extra minutes. Highly recommend."
